Track requirements, competition rules, and general safety protocols for participating in the Scandinavian Festival of Speed.

Before you hit the track

Before hitting the track at the Scandinavian Festival of Speed, make sure to review the driving requirements and competition rules to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Whether you're competing in our track events or just here to enjoy the atmosphere, it's important to follow all regulations.

Any violations of these rules may result in exclusion from the event.

Requirements for driver, passenger & car

  • Valid License
    Driver must have a valid SBF license (event SBF licenses available on-site).
  • Age
    Drivers must be at least 16 years old; minors require guardian approval.
  • Safety Gear
    Driving suit (fireproof, not necessarily FIA-certified), helmet, and gloves are required.
  • Passengers
    Must be 16 years or older.
  • Car Inspection
    The car must undergo a technical inspection on-site.
  • Driver Briefing
    Both driver and passenger must attend the driver briefing.
  • Alcohol Limit
    Alcohol limit at briefing and on track is 0.0 for both driver and passenger.

Electric vehicles are not permitted on track due to fire safety concerns.

Requirements for driving on track

  • Cleared of Loose Objects
    Ensure the car is free of any loose items.
  • Good Condition
    The car must be in good condition, with no loose parts.
  • Equipped with Lights
    Front low beam, rear lights, and brake lights are mandatory.
  • Washed and Polished
    Cars must be clean, with no sharp edges.
  • Free from Leaks
    No leaks in engine, gearbox, cooling, or brakes.
  • Wheel Fitment
    Wheels should not protrude beyond the fenders.
  • Exhaust Requirements
    Exhaust must exit below the top of the wheel arch.
  • Convertibles
    Must have the roof closed and be equipped with a roll bar.
  • Window Net
    If windows are open, a net or arm restraints are needed.

General driving rules

  • Keep walking pace in the pit area.
  • No mopeds, scooters, or similar vehicles around camping or depot areas (exceptions for ATVs towing race cars).
  • All motor vehicles must be stationary one hour after track driving ends.
  • No idling or revving engines.
  • Burnouts are prohibited throughout the entire area.
  • Respect quiet hours starting at 02:00.
  • Dispose of all trash in designated areas.

Safety guidelines

  • No riding outside vehicles (e.g., on flatbeds or roofs).
  • Glass items are prohibited in the pit and camping areas.
  • No smoking in public areas or stands.
  • No PA systems or sound systems that disturb others.

Any violations of these safety rules may result in removal from the track or event area.

Dogs at the festival

While dogs are allowed, it is strongly discouraged to bring them due to the loud noises, large crowds, and frequent car movements. If you do bring a dog, it must be on a leash at all times.

Important information

  • Responsibility
    All driving is at the driver's own risk. Drivecenter Arena AB, SFOS AB, instructors, and officials disclaim all responsibility for damage.
  • Insurance
    Any issues related to insurance are between the driver and their insurance company.
  • Reckless Driving
    Any reckless driving or ignoring instructions can result in exclusion from further track driving.
